Albergo Terminus was born out of the complete restructuring of an
early 19th Century building with its composite liberty style and its
calm and comfortable taste typical of a certain Lombard aristocracy.
The careful renovation, which preserved the architectural
characteristics of the historical building, was accompanied by
absolutely radical reforms in the structures and services in order
to provide guests with the highest level of comfort and safety.
Nowadays the Terminus Hotel is a landmark for the more refined
clientele who can enjoy the hotel’s splendid position on the shores
of Lake Como, a stone’s throw from the Cathedral and the magnificent
Cavour Square right in the heart of Como. Entering the hotel the
vast hall which is found on the upper floor is very fascinating. The
open gallery that envelops three sides of this great hall represents
the architectural character of the hotel at its best.
In the intact period halls every detail preserves the original
image: the banisters and the cast iron lamps, the delicate stucco
work on the walls, the pleasant Lombard paintings of the 19th
Century, as well as the heavy doors which are based on the original
designs and the hand-painted plates found on every floor. From the
hall there is access to the restaurant, which is located on the same
floor, as well as to some of the bedrooms. The hall also has a Wi-Fi
Internet connection. All of these details make the Hotel Terminus a
charming hotel where peace and comfort are an integral part of the
guests’ stay.
